How to play Daily Lance

  1. Get today's team.At midnight in your time zone, a new team of six level 100 Pokémon from Generations 1-3 unlocks. Every player gets the same six.
  2. Battle Lance.Each turn, pick a move or switch Pokémon, just like a Game Boy Advance battle. Lance's team and tactics stay the same every day.
  3. Share your grid.You get one official battle a day. If you leave mid-battle, it waits for you. Win or lose, copy your result and keep your streak going.

Lance brings six Flying-type Pokémon, including three Dragonite. Plan for each set.

What is Daily Lance?

Daily Lance is a free daily Pokémon battle. Every day, every player gets the same random team of six level 100 Pokémon and one official battle against Lance, the Champion from Gold, Silver and Crystal.

What is Lance's team?

Gyarados, Dragonite, Dragonite, Aerodactyl, Charizard and Dragonite, all at level 100. Lance always leads with Gyarados. His three Dragonite have different movesets.

Why does Lance have three Dragonite?

His Champion lineup in Gold, Silver and Crystal includes three Dragonite. This game keeps all three, with Thunder, Blizzard and Fire Blast on different sets.

Which battle rules does Daily Lance use?

Generation 3 rules on Pokémon Showdown's simulator. The lineup and moves are based on Gold, Silver and Crystal, adapted to level 100 with Gen 3 abilities and held items. Move categories depend on type: Dragon is special and Normal is physical.

When does the next team unlock?

At midnight in your own time zone. Every player on the same date gets the same Lance challenge. Red, Blue and Lance each have their own daily team and official battle.

Will playing Lance affect my Red or Blue streak?

No. Each opponent has separate results and streaks stored in this browser. Playing Lance does not change your Red or Blue record.

Can I resume or practice?

Leave an official battle and use Resume battle to continue it that day. Practice runs are unlimited and never change your official result or streak.
